The German company United Offshore Support (UOS) has entrusted Martinique Shipyard to reactivate its offshore supply vessel “GH Liberty” after four years of inactivity. This major technical stop marks an important milestone for the Martinique shipyard. Indeed, this operation of more than 70 days in the dry dock attests the expertise and commitment of local and international stakeholders in Martinique maritime sector.

Propulsion

  • Rudder blade removal ;
  • Shafts removal for liners and seals replacement ;
  • Propellers polishing ;
  • Azymuth thruster replacement ;
  • Steering gear maintenance.

 

 

Deck equipment

  • Replacement of the towing cable ;
  • Installation and commissioning of a new davit ;
  • Overhaul of the main crane cylinders (4.5T) ;
  • Maintenance of the windlass and winches ;
  • Replacement of 600m² of deck planks.

Engine Room

  • Maintenance of two turbochargers ;
  • Removal, cleaning, and reinstallation of 8 plate heat exchangers ;
  • Inspection, cleaning, maintenance of alternators and electric motors;
  • Complete overhaul of the two main fans.

Steelwork

  • Demolition, fitting, welding, and inspection of 30m² of insert ;
  • Disassembly, overhaul, and pressure testing of 26 hull valves ;
  • Replacement of 300 inches of piping (DN250 CuNi 90/10) ;
  • Design and fabrication of DN400 seawater filters ;
  • Replacement of fenders.

 Painting

  • Complete cleaning of the hull ;
  • Hydroblasting grade WA2.5 :  30% of the underwater total surface ;
  • Application of paint on the underwater areas (1800m² of antifouling) and on the topside areas (660m²) in compliance with class requirements.
